SCC in the Schools
Seattle Children’s Chorus is thrilled to be working with young singers and music educators at Seattle Public Schools. Now in its second year, SCC in the Schools is supporting choir directors and providing accompanists for four schools. Our SCC in the Schools staff will rehearse weekly with their students for performances throughout the year, both with Brio and Intermezzo, and individually at their schools. First up, Kimball Elementary will join Brio, Intermezzo, and Thalia Orchestra for a holiday concert at Town Hall on December 6. Please see our calendar for more details!

mikey prince
director, Scc in the schools - john muir elementary
Mikey Prince (he/they) is a music educator, pianist, vocalist, and community advocate based in Seattle. As a music teacher at John Muir Elementary School in south Seattle, Mikey is passionate about fostering creativity, musical expression, and a lifelong love of music in young learners. Mikey also serves as the assistant director and collaborative pianist for the Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble (STANCE), the world’s largest trans choir. Through this work, Mikey helps create affirming musical spaces that celebrate marginalized voices and build community. When he is not music-making, Mikey can be found relaxing with his wife and their three pets.
kt Raschko
director, scc in the schools - kimball elementary
KT Raschko is the General Music Specialist at Kimball Elementary School on Beacon Hill in Seattle. As part of the rich choral community in Seattle, KT's chorus students have sung at events and venues around the city, from the University of Washington to the Seattle Center Armory. KT is a firm believer that everyone can sing, and that philosophy is reflected in the inclusive and supportive community fostered in their chorus. KT attended Lawrence University, earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and received a Master’s in Teaching degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Washington. A Pacific Northwest native, KT sang for twelve years in the Northwest Girlchoir. As an adult, she has been part of Mirinesse Women’s Choir under Beth Ann Bonnecroy and Rebecca Rottsolk, as well as Seattle Women's Chorus under Dennis Coleman. KT lives with her wife Sarah and daughters Frances and Tillie in south Seattle.
joseph to
director, scc in the schools - washington middle school
Joseph To is an orchestra teacher at Washington Middle School, as well as an award-winning conductor and music director of the Norwegian Ladies Chorus, Magnolia Chorale, and Bainbridge Chorale. Holding a master’s degree in conducting and a bachelor’s degree in music education, Joseph brings a deep passion for world music, which informs his artistic vision and leadership. Joseph has conducted extensive research and delivered engaging presentations on Mandarin and Cantonese choral music, as well as Southeast Asian choral traditions. His work thoughtfully integrates ethnomusicology into secondary music education, helping students and audiences connect with diverse cultural perspectives through music.
In addition to his teaching and conducting roles, Joseph serves as the World Music and Culture Repertoire and Resources Chair for the Washington chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (WAACDA). He was honored with the “Outstanding Emerging Choral Director” award by WAACDA in 2022.
becca woodbury
director, scc in the schools - bailey gatzert elementary
Ms. Woodbury holds a BM in Voice Performance from Arizona State University and a MA in Music Education from the University of Washington. After almost a decade of leading award-winning high school choral programs, she now teaches elementary general music and music directs the Youth Opera Project with Seattle Opera. Ms. Woodbury has conducted with the Seattle Girl Choir and Seattle Children’s Choir, and has sung with Solis Camerata in Phoenix, AZ, Vox16 in Seattle, WA, and Choral Arts in Seattle, WA. Her favorite role she has ever performed in a musical was Cosette in Les Miserables, and her favorite opera she's ever performed in is The Magic Flute.
When she's not working, Ms. Woodbury likes to travel to new places (she's been to 35 countries so far!), get in a workout at the gym, and read a good book. You can find more information at her website, beccawoodbury.com
Keira Shaw
Staff pianist, SCC in the Schools - Washington middle school
Keira Shaw graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2026 with a BA in Piano Performance and Composition. That spring, she won SPU’s concerto competition and premiered with the SPU Orchestra. With a passion for excellent and authentic performance, Keira has used her skills in various church settings and ensembles, singing with Green River College Jazz Voices and SPU Concert Choir, and collaborating with worship teams at Valley View Christian Church, SPU Chapel, and Bethany Community Church. In addition to Seattle Children’s Chorus, Keira serves as the accompanist for Pint Size Choir at Bethany Community Church and as a recording engineer for Common Tone Arts.
adaleigh martin
Staff pianist, scc in the schools - kimball elementary & john muir elementary
Adaleigh has been playing piano since she was able to stand up. Now she plays in the North Seattle College Modern Jazz Ensemble, and occasionally with North Seattle College symphonic band. Just as comfortable with Debussy and Scriabin as she is with modern music, she runs her own home recording studio and micro record label called Aery Records. She has released music professionally under the name Nixie Halcyon and now spends her time producing music for others.
Adaleigh is a multi-instrumentalist, finding herself at home programming a synthesizer, playing her renaissance-era garklein, trombone, or guitar, among others. She also sings with Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble (STANCE), where she has served on the board of directors.
Adaleigh graduated cum laude with a BS in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology. When she’s not playing or singing, she can be found hanging out with her dog Mak, paddleboarding, making beats for fun on her Akai MPC Live 3, or going on road trips and cruises with her mom.
