Meet our choirs:

Brio - grades 2-3

Our Brio training level program directed by Ellie Kok provides a foundation for choral and vocal instruction for children in grades 2 and 3.  Children receive an introduction to basic choral singing and perform three times a year at formal concerts. This program is offered at our Shoreline and Snohomish rehearsal locations.

Intermezzo - grades 4-6

With a greater focus on vocal training and music theory, Intermezzo begins to introduce a higher level of musicianship to choristers grades 4-6.  This group will perform three times each year at our formal concerts, as well as at one additional performing opportunity.  In addition, we offer short festival opportunities when an excellent event comes our way.  Directing this level is Artistic Director, Dr. Jean-Marie Kent. This program is offered at our Shoreline and Snohomish rehearsal locations.

arioso - TREBLE VOICES, GRADES 7+

Arioso is our premier treble choir, grades 7+. This program provides an advanced level of instruction for choristers graduating from Intermezzo. They perform at all formal concerts and at a number of community performing events. This is also the main touring group in our program. Choristers attend a workshop in the fall, winter, and spring to further develop their vocal skills. Dr. Jean-Marie Kent is the director of Arioso. This program is offered at our Shoreline and Snohomish rehearsal locations.

coro vivo - CHANGED VOICE CHOIR

SCC’s choir which provides advanced vocal training and performance opportunities designed for Tenor and Bass changed and changing voices.  The choristers in this program are provided with specialized instruction designed for the maturing lower voice. Coro Vivo is directed by Nathaniel Hendrix and is only offered at our Shoreline rehearsal site.

camerata - Auditioned; Grades 9+

This program provides young voices an opportunity to perform in an advanced mixed voice SATB group.  This ensemble provides an excellent transitional opportunity for advanced choristers who are considering continuing with their vocal talents into the college level. Treble voices (sopranos and altos) are also required to be a part of Arioso and lower voices (tenors and basses) are required to be part of Coro Vivo.  This program is directed by Nathaniel Hendrix and is available only at our Shoreline rehearsal site.
