Camerata and Coro Vivo to New York – Carnegie Hall Festival Tour!
Both choirs were invited to the American Music Performance Nationals for Top Choirs. A full day was spent participating in an adjudicated performance; a clinic with Dr. Andre Thomas; workshops including Broadway 101; a Meeting of Voices, and a Vocal Master Class at the Aaron Copeland’s School of Music of Queen’s College. A second full day was spent rehearsing and performing for a concert at Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Dr. Anton Armstrong. The concert was shared with 16 other top choirs from all around the country, each participating in a spotlight performance, and all participants enjoying a Massed Choir Performance, complete with an antiphonal ending. One of the highlights for Camerata and Coro Vivo, was the privilege of performing “Do Not Be Afraid”, composed by SCC alumni Maxfield Marcus on the Carnegie Hall stage. Congratulations to Camerata and Coro Vivo!
