Seattle Children’s Chorus has begun their 23rd season!  As we enter into 2012, we’d like to introduce….CORO VIVO!  A brand new male voices choir!  Open to young men ages 12-19 with changed and changing voices!  We’d also like to introduce……POCO a POCO! Our newest non-auditioned pre-choir program for children aged 5&6.  Poco a Poco is a fun and interactive introduction to music-making through singing, listening, movement, and playing instruments.  Registration is open for both!

We welcome Coro Vivo and Poco a Poco to Arioso, Intermezzo, Brio, & Camerata, a choral COMMUNITY!  Some of the most life-changing things happen for our kids because of  community:  Developing a sense of team work; Learning to listen and create beautiful artistry in sound as a team; Offering support and encouragement to fellow singers; Demonstrating acceptance for all participants; Taking on new challenges with confidence; Growing, changing, maturing socially in a safe place.

For information about auditions, Coro Vivo, or Poco a Poco,  please call or email Leanna Kraakmo, our audition coordinator in the SCC office at 206-542-5998 or toll free 1-888-561-7139 email: leanna@seattlechildrenschorus.org

Camerata has been invited to perform for the Edmonds Uited Methodist Church Organ Dedication Concert on Sunday, February 7th at 3:00 pm as part of the church’s Organ Benefit Concert Series.  This concert is the culmination of many years of planning ad dreaming for a new pipe organ.  Camerata is honored to be a part of this concert series.

Camerata had the opportunity to perform for some of the finest and most recognized music professionals in the country at the Heritage Festival of Gold in San Francisco, May of 2009.  The adjudicators and clinicians for the event included Eph Ehly, André Thomas and Randall Stroope among others.  Only choirs of the highest caliber were invited to participate in the festival.  The festival venue was at the beautiful St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.

A hot cup of fine tea, a plate full of delectable treats and the sounds of delightful choral music……what better way to spend a Seattle mid-winter afternoon?  Arioso will entertain our guests with beautiful music during the English High Tea!  This is a fundraiser for our choristers traveling to the UK.  Tickets are available for $25 and can be purchased by Arioso and Camerata choristers!

Arioso is also pleased to have received an invitation to perform for the ACDA worship service on Thursday, March 11th at Plymouth Congregational Church in Seattle.  We are honored to have received this invitation and look forward to singing for this choral event from 5:15-6:30.

Arioso had a delightful mini-tour to Canada in January, 2009.   A wonderful woman, Ellen Wang, whom we met while on tour to Kathaumixw in the  summer of 2008,  an accomplished organist and musician who teaches at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, and is involved in the music ministry at First Baptist Church in downtown Vancouver, arranged and provided a workshop. Arioso also observed the rehearsal of the Trinity Western University Choir.
