Kris Mason, founder and Artistic Director of Seattle Children's Chorus, is a choral specialist who has worked in public education and churches for 24 years. She is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. Kris has served as Washington State president for the Chorister's Guild and is presently Chairperson of the American Choral Directors Association Childrens Choir Repertoire & Standards for Washington State . She has also served as a guest clinician throughout Western Washington including the Puget Sound Children's Choir Festival at Fort Worden in 2002. Along with her work as Artistic Director of the Chorus, Kris serves as Director of Music at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Marysville Washington. Her enthusiastic teaching style and dedication to the development of young musicians provide an inspirational role model for the organization.

John Hendrix, director of the Camerata program of Seattle Children's Chorus presently teaches choral music at Shorewood High School in Shoreline. Washington. He has taught both vocal and instrumental music in Minnesota and Washington, has directed church choirs for many years, and has been the musical director and conductor in productions of musicals and operas by local schools and community theatre groups. John is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University and has a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from Western Washington University.

Shari Anderson, is our newly-hired director of Brio, the training level of Seattle Children's Chorus. Shari received her bachelor of arts degree from Whitworth college and has done graduate studies in music education, Orff and Kodaly. She has taught in public schools in Oregon and Washington since 1982 and currently teaches general music at Meridian Park Elementary in the Shoreline School District. Shari is also active in the Northwest Kodaly Educators division of the Organization of American Kodaly Educators.

Dianne Beckman-Engelbrekt has been accompanist for Seattle Childrens Chorus since 1991. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance and psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Washington . Dianne has been an active piano teacher and accompanist for various groups in the Seattle area for over 20 years. She has taught at the college level and in her private studio.

Randi Teigland-Hendrix
joined Seattle Childrens Chorus as accompanist for our Everett branch in mid-1997 and is also currently accompanying
Camerata. She is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance. Randi has accompanied a number of groups and soloists in concerts throughout the Seattle area, as well as for the Shoreline School District music program. She has taught at the college level and privately in her home for over 20 years. Currently she is a pianist for Grace Lutheran Church in Lynnwood , Washington.

Marcie Fosse has worked for Seattle Childrens Chorus since 1995, and has been our Chorus Manager for over 6 years. Her bachelors degree from Seattle Pacific University was in home economics, which provided a foundation for her management skills within our organization. She sang with the SPU concert choir while in college and currently directs a womens ensemble and sings with her church choir. Marcie is the voice on the phone in our chorus office, and oversees the general day to day functions of the Chorus, as well as the planning aspects of tours and our performance calendar.

Debbie Oglesby
is
our new chorister
accounts administrator,
database manager and
newsletter publisher.
She comes to us with 7
years of administrative
work at New Hope Child
and Family Agency and
also worked for the
Seattle Art Museum for 9
years. She has a
background in
photography and
currently enjoys
producing children's
musicals at Calvary
Fellowship, her home
church.
Debbie will be in the
office on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. You can

Leanna Kraakmo
is
our administrative
assistant and is in the
office on Mondays and
Wednesdays. Leanna
teaches private piano
lessons in her home in
addition to her work
with Seattle Children's
Chorus. She handles
auditions, uniforms,
tickets, volunteer
recruiting and other
general office duties.
