Seattle has long been the second home for many Scandinavian immigrants.  With these hearty settlers came the music, art and traditions of the homeland.  SCC celebrates and honors this vibrant heritage through our Advent performances, sharing beloved music and traditions in an unforgettable performance.

Mid Season Concert – A Poet’s Song

Every choral composer of every musical period and genre goes in search of just the right text, the most beautiful and suitable lyrics on which to build an inspirational song.  It is the partnership of both the lyrics and the music that speak to the human heart.  This March performance will feature choral “poems” that have spoken to our choristers, sometimes fun, happy, lovely, joy-filled and sometimes powerful, addressing the realities of life, loss, human experience, the rough parts of the journey.

Spring Concert – Barn Dance

We invite you to join us for an imaginative, energetic, hilarious party with the animals.  All the youngest musicians of the Seattle Children’s Chorus, are going to ‘raise the roof’ telling the stories of  “All God’s Critters”.  Music and Motion will bring these critters to life.  This concert welcomes children of all ages;  the only requirement…..bring your own imagination!

The youth choirs of Seattle Children’s Chorus close our season with an uplifting  performance of choral selections that celebrate and explore both the meaning and experience of joy. This grand finale will include music of the great masters, music from a variety of genres and music that reflects other cultures’ expressions of joy. We hope you will be with us as we bring our 2016-2017 season to a close.
